Welcome to The Haunted Hare!
This is the recorded archive of the history of a pub started by two friends, and we welcome you to grab a pint, pull up a stool and join us here.
The Haunted Hare started as a collaborative art project between two friends who live very far apart, who believe in pubs and who like all the things they’re made up of. We like how they feel, but also the stuff and stories that make them feel the way they do. The beer mats, the locals, the pub folklore and the general goings-on are all up for grabs, and the place will become clearer the more we all add to it.
So, we welcome and encourage contributions. What does the stool you’re sitting on feel like? What beer are you drinking? Who was the landlord in 1900? What are those objects on the mantelpiece over yonder?
There’s no fixed idea of what the pub is, or what it might become. As with all good things, it’s going to take a joint effort. You might draw a picture, invent a regular, start a club, tell us about something that happened here, or remember something about your own experience of The Haunted Hare.
