Antlers in The Gents

Anyone using the gents at The Hare may wonder why there is a rather fine set of mounted antlers hanging on the wall above the urinals.

Ten or so years ago some developers from the city had their eye on the ‘empty’ fields around the pub and surrounding area, so started sniffing around trying to find who owned them all. As part of their charm offensive, the antlers turned up one day with a note:

“To our friends at the best boozer in all the land, The Haunted Hart”

Needless to say, those ‘3 & 4 bedroom luxury cottages’ never did get built behind the pub...
